Tourist in my own town pt.2 + InPhaseProd piece

March 28, 2006

So this weekend, after a quiet Saturday spent recovering from my 30th birthday party and the news from Capitol Hill, Josh and I spent Sunday downtown in the sun. Our friend Robb had an installation up in Westlake Park for 4 days, and in return for Robb’s soundman skills for the DAE at my birthday party, Josh helped him set up the final day. (not me, I was taking pictures:)

Around lunch time we decided to go get some mac & cheese from Beecher’s, the artisan cheesemaker in the Pike Place Market. So, of course, we had to walk around the market, which I love, but which definitely counts as touristy.

We went back up to Westlake and hung out for the afternoon, saw a few friends including Kaz from Na and Pol and Heather, and watched the reactions of people to the piece while I tried (and failed) not to take too many pictures. (Came home with almost 400!)

At 4:30 the INB came and played, and an unaffiliated performance artist went a little too far and attracted an ambulance and the fire department, (even though everyone could smell the catsup - does anyone know what the message/point was after all?) and it was time to pack up and go home.
